ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for a parcel of property of an area of land approximately 5 acres in size off the Conservation Road, Town of Dickinson, County of Franklin, State of New York, being Tax Map Parcel #164.-2-5, with such conveyance recorded by warranty deed filed with the Office of the Franklin County Clerk, Liber 389, Page 488, will be received by the TOWN OF MOIRA at the TOWN CLERK’S OFFICE AT 522 COUNTY ROUTE 6, P.O. BOX 150, MOIRA, NEW YORK, 12957 until 4:00 P.M., local time March 10, 2025 and then at the regular Town Board meeting on March 11, 2025 starting at 6:00 P.M., publicly opened and read aloud.

Each Proposal shall be made by letter containing the name, current address, email address, and telephone number of the bidder, and the amount of their bid, and shall be submitted in a sealed envelope submitted to the Town Clerk during office hours or by appointment and marked “Sealed Bid for Sale of Town Property,” or sent by U.S. Mail to:

Town of Moira Town Clerk, 522 County Route 6, P.O. Box 150, Moira, NY 12957 and marked “Sealed Bid for Sale of Town Property.”

Minimum bid is $5,075.00 pursuant to a full market value estimate provided by the Assessor of the Town of Dickinson.

The Town Board of the Town of Moira reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.

The awarded bidder shall be required to bear any and all costs for the conveyance of said real property including but not limited to the survey, transfer tax, recording and filing fees.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 4:00 P.M., local time March 10, 2025 and then at the regular Town Board meeting on March 11, 2025 starting at 6:00 P.M., will publicly opened and read aloud.

Access to this property from Conservation Road is via right of way access through an adjoining property, recorded in each Warranty Deed of the respective properties. You may view the deeds HERE and HERE

Mining activities on the property have taken place over a substantial period of time, but NONE has been conducted by the Town of Moira at any time the Town has owned the property. This was reported to NYSDEC Police and investigated by Region 5 Law Enforcement, Division of Mineral Resources (Mined Land Reclamation Specialists), and Lands and Forests (as the mining activity was conducted up to the Town’s property line with NYS Forest Lands).
