NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Town Board of the Town of Moira, that pursuant to the provisions of Town Law of the State of New York, a public hearing will be held at 6:00 PM on the 26th day of March, 2024 at the Moira Town Garage, 522 County Route 6, Moira, New York to consider the adoption of a local law entitled Administration and enforcement of the NEW YORK STATE UNIFORM FIRE PREVENTION AND BUILDING CODE (THE UNIFORM CODE) AND THE STATE ENERGY CONSERVATION CONSTRUCTION CODE (THE ENERGY CODE). This proposed local law repeals and replaces Town of Moira Local Law Number One of 2005 and provides for the administration and enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (the Uniform Code) and the State Energy Conservation Construction Code (the Energy Code) in the Town. This local law is adopted pursuant to §10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law. Except as otherwise provided in the Uniform Code, other state law, or other section of this proposed local law, all buildings, structures, and premises, regardless of use or occupancy, are subject to the provisions of this proposed local law. A complete copy of the proposed local law is available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s office and on the Town’s website.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. Written comments will be accepted by the Town Clerk, adishaw@townofmoirany.org, until no later than 2:00 p.m. on March 26, 2024.
