NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Town Board of the Town of Moira, that pursuant to the provisions of Town Law of the State of New York, a public hearing will be held at 6:00 PM on the 27th day of February, 2024 at the Moira Town Garage, 522 County Route 6, Moira, New York to consider the adoption of a local law #1 of 2024, entitled PROVIDING FOR THE DEFENSE AND INDEMNIFICATION OF OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN OF MOIRA. This proposed Local Law would affirm that the Town of Moira shall save harmless and indemnify any officer or employee of the town from financial loss resulting from a claim filed in any court of competent jurisdiction for damages arising out of an act done or the failure to perform any act, provided that such officer or employee, at the time of the alleged act or failure to perform any act, was acting in the performance of his or her duties and within the scope of employment. A complete copy of the proposed local law is available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s office and on the Town’s website.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. Written comments will be accepted by the Town Clerk, adishaw@townofmoirany.org, until no later than 2:00 p.m. on February 27, 2024.
